Hỏi đáp về ngành Logistics

Cùng các Mentor của Mentori giải đáp các thắc mắc của bạn về ngành Logistics

Question 1: I was born in 2002 and graduated with a degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. After graduation, I worked in logistics sales at a small company, but I didn't find it a good fit and quit. Now I want to switch to a job in documentation and customs declaration, but every company I interview with requires experience. I'm currently learning Chinese and planning to take a customs procedures course soon. Would that be a good idea? Thank you to all the mentors!

Hi. There are relatively many job opportunities related to documentation and declarations available on the market, so choosing this direction to find opportunities is a good idea. Here are a few things you can do to improve your chances of getting hired:

- Learning Chinese and customs procedures is a sound investment. This is because the Chinese market remains a major export market for Vietnamese agricultural products, many Vietnamese businesses are exploring sourcing goods from Chinese factories for processing in Vietnam, and Chinese businesses are directly coming to Vietnam to develop the rapidly growing market.

- With previous sales and logistics experience, when listing your experience on your CV, you should clearly state that in addition to sales experience, you also have practical knowledge of the market, real-world logistics operations, and the network of relationships you have built or established within the industry. This could be an added advantage when transitioning to the documentation and customs declaration field.

Question 2: I am a fourth-year English Language student. I plan to work in logistics (documentation, purchasing, etc.), but currently my knowledge of logistics is not as good as that of students who specialize in logistics. Therefore, recruiters often overlook my CV. What should I do now to at least meet the recruiters' requirements?

Reply:

- First, you need to take additional professional training courses to gain fundamental knowledge. Because the work in the documentation and declaration field requires understanding of regulations and procedures, not just experience, learning is essential. These courses could be Customs professional training courses, or part-time/second degree courses in supply chain management, or courses from centers specializing in supply chain/import-export/logistics...

- In addition, you can also explore job opportunities in the Warehouse sector as an initial stepping stone to gaining practical experience in the Warehouse & Logistics field.

- Another option (which will require more actively seeking opportunities) is to wait for internships or short-term contracts for support positions in the Purchasing department (this position will mainly involve processing and completing purchase documents, entering data and information into the software system. This position doesn't require a high level of specialized knowledge and can utilize your foreign language skills to some extent).
